Back in January, the thought of sitting through an Afghanistan Desert Taliban movie was way to unappealing for the theater, yet this one is a rare exception to the non-fictional war genre. With Thor leading the troop, 12 STRONG plays most of its cards right, by presenting distinctive combat tactics instead of boring the viewer with accustomed gunfights in the sand and extended rural village drama.
