Review of 12 Rounds (2009) by Matt N — 09 Dec 2009
This film is a definite improvement over the terrible The Marine. John Cena shows us that he can, when required, show a decent amount of acting in terrible situations bound to show the greatest of heroes from the rest, and he does it rather well.
The story is the usual kidnap plot mixed with evil nemesis out for revenge, and I usually become tired of these flicks considering the amount released, but I really enjoyed watching this film. John Cena and Aiden Gillen bounced off each other brilliantly in this movie, making the hatred completly convincing.
Now, not everything can be good in a WWE funded/produced movie, and this shows in the last 10 minutes as it become a little ridiculous, as if the writers had struck a block.
In some areas the action scenes will probably annoy that group of people who wish to disagree that it is unrealistic, but this aside everything about his film was perfect for a summer action flick and I highly recommend this.
