Review of 12 Rounds (2009) by Jesse T — 23 Mar 2010
Imagine an action movie where nobody really seems to care what happens. The hero doesn't really care, though he does throw some tantrums; the villain doesn't care, though he does smile once in awhile and say something cliche; the hero's team of other heros are content to just follow him around and either (a) mess things up or (b) say things like, "We HAVE to do something" and "We NEED to stop this guy".
The screenplay isn't worth mentioning, and the direction is bland to the point of me theorizing that Harlin allowed his son's former film school dropout roommate to direct after watching every Bourne movie and saying, "Okay, do that, only much, much worse.
".
