Review of 12 Angry Men (1957) by Jake S — 21 Jul 2012
This is one of my favorite "talkie" movies. It's extremely well written. The entire movie takes place in a courthouse, particularly the jury room. A murder case trial against a young boy has just opened and the audience follow these 12 men into the jury room and that's where the truth unfolds.
Henry Fonda is at his top of his game in this film and you definitely sympathize with his fight for justice. Lee J Cobb, Jack Klugman, and Jack Warden are all truly great. It's surprising to see a movie that takes in one single location to be so absorbing and have so much depth in its dialogue and story.
You really just can't help to be in awe. A true masterpiece.
