Review of 11:14 (2004) by Faith B — 24 Dec 2007
It's just great!
One of those puzzle movies that will keep you guessing until that final moment when everything finally makes sense.
The whole film is in itself a presentation of a series of events which are apparently disconnected from each other. And of course we know they've got to have a connection of some kind, but that's exactly where the beauty of this movie lies. In fact, the most exciting thing while watching this film is that you keep constantly wondering and trying to find out the missing piece that will complete the puzzle you have been putting together right from the beginning.
It's a mind challenging movie with some odd funny scenes along the way. Some of them particularly odd, I must say. (You'll know what I mean when / if you watch it.) But, in my opinion, it is in fact the oddness about it and also the dark humour in it that turn this movie into a rather funny one to watch.
If you look closely, there's no way you can possibly go wrong here. You've got the mind puzzling factor, the oddness, and also a touch of dark humour to spice things up a little bit.
And although I didn't mention this earlier, the performances are also great.
And that's a lot to say, giving the fact that I usually tend to puke whenever Mr. Swayze shows up on the screen.
Didn't happen this time, though.
So I guess it's safe enough.
No, no, no...
Scratch that.
Not safe enough.
A must see, really.
