Review of 11:14 (2004) by Jason F — 23 Dec 2008
There seemed to be a push at the turn of the century for convoluted, plot-intensive films. Although I love the movie, I believe we have "Memento" to thank for much of this. However, "11:14" is a noteworthy effort that was largely overlooked.
The storyline isn't grand but the intertwining of the characters is meaningful and believable. The performances are inspired and convincing though there's nothing special about the script that elevates them further.
Watch the awkwardness and tragedy come full circle to reveal the entire puzzle. For those who like intricate, story-driven films, this one is for you. And, on a more personal note, Rachael Leigh Cook's sex scene is perhaps the hottest fully dressed simulated coitus I've ever seen.
