Review of 11:14 (2004) by Ricardo C — 14 Jul 2007
I always wanted to watch it, and I must say I'm impressed by Marcks' feature film debut. Although the storyline is highly constructed (talking about odd coincidences), "11:14" is an thoroughly enjoyable, yet a little short movie about several characters involved in a slightly gory night full of unpleasant surprises.
The humour's dry and dark, the cutting fast, the soundtrack pulsating to the heartbeat and the actor ensemble very fitting. Great performances by everybody. A good mix of young and old. See Swank in a pre-"Million Dollar Baby" role.
And keep an eye on Ben Foster. That guy's just awesome in every single film he's in. Great prospect.
