Review of 100 Feet (2008) by Todd L — 01 Feb 2010
I seriously wanted to like this. The premise alone on paper is great- woman kills abusive husband but is sentenced to be lojacked in the brownstone she killed him in and he comes back to haunt/beat her.
Unfortunately, the dialogue alone is enough to beat YOU into submission. It starts ok, but the HORRIFIC (in a bad way) effects are too much.
Don't SHOW HIS GHOST... especially when it looks so stupid.
Most of the movie is telegraphed but that's ok with a ghost story like this, but the ending was BAD. Janssen does an admirable job, especially considering she spends most of the movie being throw across rooms.
Several times you have to wonder how she even gets up let alone does much of what she does in the movie.
The over the top graphic beatdown that occurs near the end was OVER THE TOP and unnecessary... as was the character who received said beat down...
Really unfortunate...
