Review of 10 Items or Less (2006) by Catie H — 21 Jul 2007
The kind of film I would recommend to my parents. the whole thing was a bit too sacharine for my taste and seemed like it could have been an (bad) adaptation of a mitch albom novel.
The formulaic character development prescribed to the female lead (finding the confidence to attend a job interview) just wasn't enough to carry the plot, despite morgan freeman's distractive charm throughout.
Also, I was shocked to learn that this was rated R. they could have cut out one or two "fucks" and it could have been PG. the message was PG, that's for sure.
