Review of 10 Items or Less (2006) by Tammi S — 04 Oct 2008
I don't know what it is about 10 Item or Less, but there is something about it that is really appealing. The thing I think I like about this film is the unknown aspect. We're not quite sure who Morgan Freeman is or was, but what we do know is enough to sustain our hunger for more information, but yet at the same time make us want more.
This film is comprised of many little sequences: the following the old manager, the car wash and my favorite the Target scene. "This is amazing." "This is Target." This is one very simple straight forward film, yet it is very captivating.
Freeman is great in this unconventional role for him, and Paz is beautiful and the perfect support. This is a great example of independent film, and anyone who enjoys independent film will love it!
