Review of 10 Items or Less (2006) by Anjie T — 21 Oct 2007
I haven't been able to watch any movies lately. And I am so bummed about it but such is life.
Somehow I managed to squeeze this in while I was folding sheets & towels last night. I loved it. I loved Morgan Freeman & Paz Vega. The chemistry between them was very believable for me. The story was short & sweet & I thoroughly enjoyed it. Actually, after I watched it, I was going to give it a 7 but this morning, I decided it really is worth an 8 :D .
However, if you are not a Morgan Freeman fan, or a Paz Vega fan, don't bother with this one. The movie is all them.
My short synopsis:
Morgan Freeman plays himself. He hasn't worked in a few years & a script comes along for the part of a store manager. This kid drives him to this crappy store in a town he has never been in. And leaves him there for research. He studies the people in the store & becomes fascinated with Scarlet, the 10 items or less checker. His ride never shows & she takes pity on him & is going to help get him home but she has to do something first. And it just goes on from there. All the places they go, the conversations they have & the people they see.
