Concur with the critic's consensus: "Smart, solidly crafted, and palpably tense, 10 Cloverfield Lane makes the most of its confined setting and outstanding cast -- and suggests a new frontier for franchise filmmaking.

" Wow and to think I was not going to rent it thinking that it was going to be lousy. Others say that the horrors of the bunker far outweigh anything that could be outside but I differ! I think inside the bunker it was safe and you got three square meals per day, a shower, bath, books and entertainment.

Its OUTSIDE that you need to be careful with. A woman named Michelle (M. Winstead) is driving fast in the middle of the night after breaking up with her boyfriend when she is hit by an incoming truck, losing consciousness.

Upon walking up she finds herself in the basement of some bunker under the protection of Howard (John Goodman). Michelle meets another person in the bunker named Emmett who also suffered an injury. Howard explains to them that the planet faced an attack of either a chemical or nuclear type and there were no survivors plus the air outside is no good so they must remain in the bunker if they want to survive.

The story continues from there and sure from a psychological perspective its interesting how the dialogue provides some tense moments between these three characters until one of them starts to question what is truth and what are lies.

Very smart, clever screenplay that I guarantee you will leave you in total shock at the end because I never saw that coming...If you are ready for some eerie, strange story then definitely check 10 Cloverfield Lane! RECOMMENDED.
