Review of 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) by Tyler S — 27 Feb 2017
Let's be clear on one thing after watching this movie. The ending truly notched my rating up one whole star. I didn't know much about this movie going in. I knew it was some sort of suspense film with John Goodman, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 2 actors I really appreciate. That's all I knew.
The movie really gets into it quick and waste no time with irrelevant plot points that don't matter.
Instantly she wrecks her car, and is woken up handcuffed in some sort of a basement. That's all I can say to those who haven't seen the film.
Now Goodman is fantastic here. His motive are truly unclear. Is this man mad? Is he protecting her? You just don't know what's going on. He claims aliens or something is going on the outside. That radiation will kill you if you go outside. That an attack had happened.
Throughout the film you just don't know if this guy is sane or not. The guesses continue up until the end with a thrilling conclusion that left me smiling and full of satisfaction.
