Review of 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016) by Michael F — 24 Jun 2016
The acting in this movie is superb and so is the film-making. If reviewed objectively in a film class, 10 Cloverfield would seem to check all kinds of boxes for suspense, cinematography, and a well-crafted thriller.
I'm not sure if you can give spoilers on RT, so I won't - but this absolutely fell off a cliff for me at about 3/4ths when the plot shifted. Foreign invasion or other more plausible apocalyptic scenario would have made this truly a winner.
Instead it falls into the same trap as Indiana Jones 4. Serious instantly becomes hokey.
