Review of 10 (1979) by April M — 03 Jan 2007
Finally saw it for the first time and was a little disappointed in it. I was expecting to like Dudley as the personable fellow with some problems and scores big with the lady. I did not mind the moral message that he ultimately chooses virtue over lust, but the problem is that his character was too dull to like.
Derek shines on screen, but the acting is somewhat suspect, so who cares? The film definitely has highlights: some of the slapstick scores, Julie Andrew's lovely voice, and the performance turned in by Robert Webber's sidekick character, Brian Dennehy as the understanding bartender and a delightful cameo by Max Showalter as the wacky Father along with the aging Mrs.
Kissell.
