Review of Woyzeck (1979) by Robert H — 26 Mar 2010
A conglomeration of bleak philosophizing and lyrical prose, picturesque shots and set designs, a touch of the inexplicably bizarre, topped off by one of Klaus Kinski's most dynamic performances ever, Herzog's Woyzeck on a gut level is taut and predictable; what redeems the film is the manner of execution one expects from the legendary director.
