Review of Where the Truth Lies (1962) by Bradford D — 03 Apr 2011
This is an engaging mystery driven by well-developed characters. It keeps you guessing while you see the same moment in time as remembered (fabricated?) by the various characters. Yes, it's basically a "locked door' mystery (I don't buy that it's noir at all), but that's only the window dressing.
These are interesting, multi-dimensional characters that are damaged by the circumstances life has thrust upon them. For those of you who are bothered by sex and the naked human body, feel free to skip this one and go enjoy "a bit of the old ultra-violence.
