Review of When We Were Kings (1996) by Riff J — 29 May 2018
I have watched this literally 30 to 40 times and never grow tired of it. It is one of the most interesting and compelling documentaries ever, depicting how Ali's personality, philosophy and accomplishments transcended not just America but the entire globe during a time of great change.
For those that watched the Ali funeral and wondered just why this person was so historically significant, this documentary may answer some of your questions. A must-see, even if you're not a fan of the sport.
