Review of Were the World Mine (2008) by Gary G — 07 Dec 2008
A story that starts out as one familiar to any gay teenager across the globe: gay boy longs for the school sports star, boy is taunted for being gay who struggles with a parent who struggles to understand him.
But turns on a dime into a campy amusing farce when the creates a love potion that turns the towns homophobic straights into a lavender army of tolerance. As turned off I am by musicals--the film uses music in a humorous and touching way that doesn't feel as forced as most musicals do.
I highly recommend this movie to anyone who believes in love (and hell those who don't--you might learn something).
