Review of Went the Day Well? (1942) by Ian G — 16 Dec 2007
A propaganda film about the occupation of a country village by a covert unit of Nazi paratroopers and the plucky villagers who fight back.
Quite graphic for a film of this time (especially the scene with the postmistress) and an obvious inspiration for The Eagle Has Landed. Script by Graham Greene.
