Review of Wasabi (2001) by John F — 06 Jun 2008
If you enjoyed Jean Reno's performance in Leon: The Professional, then missing this movie is inexcusable. The only real problem that I had with this movie was that the DVD cover says "For those who take their action raw.
" Normally, I would have been deterred from renting a movie billed as such, but I decided to try it out. And I was sure glad I did. It's not just for action aficionados either. To summarize, the acting is quite good (especially for an action movie), there isn't an unbelievable excess of action (like so many action movies are prone to have), the wit is absolutely fantastic, and finally, it has Jean Reno.
How could anyone not love this film? BTW I watched the original French version, I heard there is a dub where Reno speaks for himself, but I don't know how good it is.
