Review of Tremors (1990) by Jennifer M — 17 May 2010
Now this is how you make a classic B movie. Just the right amount and type of humor, so that the movie is not taken too seriously. If it was played too straight and serious, it would be stupid and silly.
It is not supposed to be totally believable, it is supposed to be entertaining. The movie is surprisingly complex with many subtle interactions between the characters, especially Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward.
The humor, both subtle and flagrant, flows freely among all the characters. Reba McEntire (in her first movie)is great as the gun toting survivalist wife of Michael Gross. The movie has no flat spots and can be watched over and over.
