Review of This Girl's Life (2004) by Brendan E — 08 Jul 2007
In a role that seems to have been custom made for Juliette Marquis, This Girl's Life is an interesting take on the pornography industry and a touching snapshot of a family's struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
Viewer beware: this film gets better as it progresses, as Moon's character becomes more complex and thus human. The first several minutes of This Girl's Life tend to be hard to watch for any other reason than pure eye candy, but as the story progresses, so does our understanding of Moon's motivations.
While not a triumph, This Girl's Life is a gutsy and relatively thoughtful venture.
