Review of The Woman (2011) by Pock P — 21 Jan 2012
The Woman is a rare feat; a very shocking and satisfying horror with a clear social commentary backed by great acting and convincing production. The most interesting aspect about The Woman is that the story is revealed slowly with nasty revelations provided along the way to tease the imaginary of the audiences.
The underlining message is feminist and misandry to the extreme but it is so detailed with depths and metaphors that the end product is convincing in its own logic and by no way exploitative. Good script, confident direction, and very powerful acting from every actors (esp.
the Woman) push this gory horror a big notch above those B-grade common horror movies.
