Review of The War on Democracy (2007) by Mark M — 26 May 2008
This excellent documentary film by Australian born journalist John Pilger examines the role of the United States in destroying democracy in central and south America to suit its own imperial and economic interests.
Features an interview with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez and several former CIA members, the film focuses on the anti-democratic activities of the US in Venezuela, Guatemala, Nicuragua and Chile in detail, the funding of coups, torture and assasinations by the US and other aspects of the United States' activities in Latin America.
This film is a must see in the contemporary conversation about freedom and democracy.
