Review of The Ramen Girl (2008) by Sv G — 12 Jun 2009
I totally enjoyed this! What a lovely surprise of a film. Wonderful story of a young broken-hearted & broken-spirit American woman in Tokyo who finds comfort in the Ramen soup in the shop across the street from where she lives and ultimately asks the grouchy old chef there to become her teacher so that she can become his apprentice.
This is whimsical and enchanting due mostly to the charming performance of Brittany Murphy. She reminds me of Goldie Hawn and Meg Ryan rolled into one. Though not a new story - it was a fun one with supporting characters.
