Review of The Perfect Host (2010) by Ian M — 31 May 2011
Like a good book, this film was hard to down--or look away from. It is grounded in a creative plot, fine acting and just enough twists to keep the viewer guessing but not so many as to make it convoluted.
No one is exactly whom you expect. After seeing this film, you'll never think of David Hyde Pierce as Frasier's younger brother, but what he really is--a fine actor. Crayne Crawford plays a young bank robber and brings a balanced young actor to the screen.
I kept thinking that he reminded me of some other young actor back when...but his own essence pushed out. If you like dark comedies, they don't get much better than this.
