Review of The Man from Nowhere (2010) by Brad C — 30 Jun 2012
Man From Nowhere is a very, very intense story of revenge and redemption. The plot is not particularly original, but the film is so well done you can't tear yourself away. Won Bin makes makes most of the American "action stars" look totally lame.
His moral redemption when he finally avenges the little girl he believes has been murdered for her body organs (oh the plot will make you puke) is heartbreaking. I'm not any particular fan of the Asian action genre, beyond the Chow Yun Fat classics, but Man From Nowhere is up there.
Extremely violent, probably not a date movie. And the little girl will break your heart too. A sad, but in the end, satisfying film if you are looking for something exciting and different.
