The Kid: Difficult-to-watch film about what abuse is like and it's knock-on effects to both the abused and his dealings with others.
This is not sexual abuse. It is worse, if that is possible.
I was going to compare it to "The Pursuit of Happyness" but "Pursuit" is too casual a drama to merit it. This is rough. Most any parent will cringe; most any friend will regret. A bit of a happy ending without the schmaltz.
Definitely recommend.
