Review of The Interrupters (2011) by Elias R — 13 Dec 2012
There are a lot of ways to look at the subject matter of this film. It could be about a violence epidemic in Chicago, or about a Chicago community rebuilding itself in the face of horrible poverty and crime, or how violence is a symptom of poverty, desperation, and limited resources.
The truth of the matter is that it is all these things, but most importantly (at least to me) is that it is about redemption, patience, and unconditional love for ones community and for one another.
