Review of The Housemaid (2010) by Lú 'Lourdes' P — 31 Mar 2011
The film opens with scenes of the bustle and hustle of the real world very much in contrast with the stunning mansion of the nouveau rich wearing beautiful clothes, living in opulence and elegant style, drinking vintage wines and eating gourmet food.
There is a power play between the all female characters fawning over the attention and money of the man of the household. The film felt like a soap opera at times but itâ??s clearly a critique of the wealthy and the viciousness to which theyâ??ll resort to retain their position.
