Review of The Giant Claw (1957) by Mareen K — 19 May 2010
This is awesome. Overall, it's a pretty typical 50s American horror movie that follows a pattern seen often enough. Does not make it especially good or a brain teaser or anything like it, but a good film to watch curled up in bed or comfy on the couch with friends.
Now, what makes this awesome is the most ridiculous puppet ever. It's so insane-looking and making such weird-ass noises, you can't help but wonder if the people who built it were trying to ruin the movie or simply making fun of the film.
It's a must-see. This paired with hilarious special effects (not to say they aren't cool) and some crazy random plot twists (Jeff Morrow finding "the pattern"!) make this a highly enjoyable film to watch.
