Perfectly Miltonic, this infernal footnote between Genesis and Revelations. Zdunich is rightfully irresistible as the Dark Lord, and the rest of the cast fills out the carnival well, with many musical talents contributing to a soundtrack that is both riotous and expectedly maniacal. The film's only real fault is in its depiction of God, which falls quite contrary to the obvious source material. Disregarding personal faith and beliefs, the God the film presents is more a convenient caricature than the Biblical/Miltonic protagonist required by Zdunich's very Paradise Lost-esque Satan. God, even in non-scriptural literature, is impervious to Satan's machinations, a trait the film missed to the detriment of a realistic narrative.

Still a memorable ride, besides.
