Review of The Crater Lake Monster (1977) by Paul D — 06 Jan 2015
There's very little to care about it when it comes to The Crater Lake Monster, a less-than-average B movie about a monster who lives in a local lake in the south that is killing locals and tourists.
It's one of those movies that's not really about anything, and it constantly gets sidetracked with its characters, none of whom are anything special. Some of the photography of the locations is fairly well done, I suppose, and hats off for the creature effects themselves.
They're not great and they don't hold up at all, but they tried at least. The rest falls by the wayside and never really makes much of an impact. The movie has been riffed on because of its unintentional humor by the crew at Rifftrax, which is about the only circumstance that I could recommend watching the movie because otherwise, it's one long slog.
