Review of The Bird People in China (1998) by Stella D — 17 Dec 2008
A lovely film and not at all what one expects from the director of ichi the killer and audition. a young japanese businessman and a crazy yakuza are sent on a road trip to a remote part of china, looking for jade and finding a mystery.
it's funny and touching and haunting and a beautiful tribute to the power of dreams. bravo!
