Review of TerrorVision (1986) by Tim S — 09 Feb 2013
TerrorVision is sadly one of those movies that just came and went when it was (briefly) released in the theaters, and didn't really have much of a release on home video either. Thanks to sites like Netflix who streamed it (and Shout! Factory who are putting it out on DVD and Blu-ray), the movie is back.
Was it worth the wait? Of course it was. This, like many horror movies of the 80's and early 90's, is one that I saw the VHS box art for a lot but never got to see it. This movie is a lot of fun, and it reminded me of kooky horror movies aimed at kids like The Gate, but this isn't really aimed at kids all that much.
It just sort of comes off that way at times. The cast is great and the movie is a lot of fun. A mark of quality it is not, but it's far too much fun and quite zany, as well as charming, to be overlooked.
If you're a horror fan, don't miss this one.
