Review of Synecdoche, New York (2008) by Tyler S — 09 Sep 2010
Phew. How vastly universal, how devastatingly truthful, how sad. This film sat down in a chair right across from me, looked me dead in the eye, and lectured to me my entire life without bias, without condemning, without condoning.
This film is a wrecking ball that hits you right in the gut for your own good. To try and give this movie a synopsis is a lie, because it is everything -- it's not ABOUT everything, it just simply IS everything.
I leave here shaken to the core, knowing that I'll be watching the movie over and over again for many, many years to come.
