Review of Sweet Sixteen (2002) by Vincent O — 10 Jul 2008
Hard hitting drama about the bleak (and drug fuelled) existence on a typical Scottish estate. This is a prime example of how good British cinema can be and Ken Loach has once again proved how important films such as 'Sweet Sixteen' are to get made.
Cinema as realistic as you would ever want but a good tip, if you watch it on TV switch to subtitle mode as the dialog is all in authentic Scottish slang. Otherwise it's almost impossible to understand.
