Review of Sushi Girl (2012) by David P — 25 Apr 2013

I enjoyed this movie more because I was lucky enough to attend the Australian premiere along with some of the cast and crew. But if there wasn't the excitement of all that involved I'm not sure how much I would have really liked it. It is very slow, playing out more like a stage play with most of the action happening in the one room surrounding a very attractive naked woman on a table who is covered in sushi. Hence Sushi Girl. The acting is brilliant but it feels more like something that would have worked better as a short film and they've dragged it out to feature length. Probably wont hit the cinemas in Australia but check out the trailer and then have a look on DVD if it interests you.
