Review of Summer of Sam (1999) by Heather G — 17 Jun 2010
I realise that this film has many flaws and is a bit messy, but I love it! In fact this is where the Brody-love began for me, when I saw this film at university 10 years ago.
The film is based around the Son of Sam killings in New York in the 70s; however the film mainly focuses on themes like friendship, betrayal and closed-mindedness.
There are some great characters, all the main performances are spot on, it has a fabulous 70s soundtrack and cool dialogue. And check out the outfits! I choose to ignore the several flaws as sometimes a film just appeals to you and you love it unconditionally :).
