Review of Special Forces (2011) by Johnson C — 27 Apr 2013
Restricted Rules of Engagement and only invading part of Pashtunistan leads to a reporter getting kidnapped and taken to a safe haven in Pakistan. For some reason the French dispatch special forces with no homing beacons, tracking chips or close air support.
"Solid entertainment" "Imagine Saving Private Ryan relocated to Afghanistan and Pakistan and you have the gist of first-time feature filmmaker Stéphane Rybojad's actioner about the rescue of a French journalist marked for death by the Taliban.
" The landscapes are stunningly beautiful and foreboding. The firefights are tense and gripping. Rybojad is a great director, I look forward to seeing more from him.
