Review of Shanghai Triad (1995) by Adella T — 10 Jun 2007
This film uses pauses and langor extremely well. A very slow moving but visually sumptuous story about a character resembling Du Yuesheng, his mistress and the country bumpkin who witnesses her undoing.
Definitely not a gangster film, but worth watching for the visuals alone.
