Review of Schizopolis (1997) by Bryan W — 09 Sep 2009
If Mike Judge and David Lynch had joined forces, it might have looked something like this. Part office comedy, part domestic battle, part lunatic intrigue, and all insanity, Soderbergh's personal vision has never been so schizophrenically indulgent or crassly non-linear, and one finds themselves loving just about every minute, especially since nearly every form of comedy is represented in frenetic moderation.
Those going in with expectations will end up disappointed or confused. Those who place no limits on what film can do will come away satisfied.
