Review of Rust and Bone (2012) by Tor M — 23 Dec 2012
5 stars: This film was not on my original list of films that I was aware of and planned on seeing. I found it because the start time was correct and it is a French film. I love French films. They always seem to be ârealâ? and not a bunch of CGI crap, are actually filmed places and are generally very good.
This film was no exception. The main plot â" boy meets girl et all is of course quite basic, however the subplots that are involved with this process are great; âtragedyâ(TM)sâ? happen in this film, however they only serve to further intensify the story line and in the end work themselves out; I found this to be a film about starting over, both literally and figuratively, itâ(TM)s about finding yourself , and most of all itâ(TM)s about loving our life and loving those around us; as it was wrapping itself up into a nice, neat little bow, I was left with a nice warm feeling, glad to be alive, glad to be human, and glad to be able to see beautiful films such as thisâ¦.
