Review of Room (2015) by Spencer K — 09 Mar 2016
No other movie in all of 2015 has emotionally and personally affected me as much as Room did. it's a heartbreaking look into salvation, hope and the overpowering love a mother has for her child. Brie Larson gives the best performance of 2015 and commands the screen as a mother whose love for her child brings hope into an impossible situation.
Jacob Tremblay is brilliant as Jack and he gives a truly revelatory performance and one of the best child performances I've seen in a movie ever. it's wonderfully directed, beautifully written by the author of a novel and she adapts her novel into a film flawlessly.
Room is without a doubt the very best film of 2015 and a truly harrowing, rewarding and unforgettable film that I haven't stopped thinking about ever since I saw it and one that I won't soon come to forget.
