Review of Ridicule (1996) by Nick L — 16 Jan 2008
A delightful comedy drama that's a deconstruction of a life in the Court of Louis XVI, "Ridicule" highlights the power of charisma over that of idealism, and how caustic wit can corrode the soul (cough.
. cough...). "Ridicule" is a more subtle, less melodramatic journey through the terrain of "Dangerous Liaisons", delightfully played by all, and sumptuously shot as the most prestigious costume drama.
Highly recommended.
