Review of Rabbit Hole (2010) by Jareth S — 10 Aug 2011
Nicole Kidman gives a great performance worthy of that Oscar-nomination in one of the best films of the year and the rest of the cast isn't too shabby either. There are more lighthearted and humorous moments than one would expect based on reading a synopsis of this film about a couple struggling to cope with the loss of their son, but there are also some rather tough scenes and awkward situations the characters find themselves in.
It all adds up to a much more interesting and realistic film without resorting to the typical formulaic nonsense you might expect from this sort of story. There are some really great moments to be found here and I can't think of anything quite like this that I've seen in recent years.
