Review of Pu-239 (2006) by Nathan H — 15 Dec 2007
Visually and emotionally engaging portrait of newly capitalist Russia, and a snapshot of--very personal, very intimate--of how world affairs became so muddled, unpredictable, and dangerous following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
As a story, I felt "Pu-239" was a bit lacking. The characters were all developed very well, but the scriptwriters didn't necessarily find the heart of the story...in other words, the movie doesn't begin in the right spot, nor end in the right spot, in order to be as effective as it could have been.
Worth checking out, nonetheless.
