Review of Private Parts (1972) by Eric K — 16 Apr 2010
I loved this film! Creepy, quirky, bizarre, macabre, all the makings of a great movie. This is like a comedic version of "The shining", set in a seedy LA hotel without all of the cheezy supernatural hubbub.
A plethora of plot turns keep you guessing right up until the very end. Basically a runaway from Ohio moves into a grungy LA hotel with her aunt, and deals with all of the bizarre inhabitants. The closeted gay priest, the smut photographer, the crazy former owner with a few screws loose, and of course her aunt (who just happens to be homocidal with a few other quirks).
Going into more detail would give the plot away, so I'll leave it at that. An awesome film that greatly exceeded my expectations. :).
