Peepli Live is a witty yet a disturbing satire on the state of farmers in rural India. The movie is a satirical take on the indifference and lack of concern on the part of the Indian media, politicians and the society towards the issue of farmer suicides in India.
Peepli Live works as a movie primarily due to its witty dialogue and honest performances by its actors. Special mention to the actor Omkar Das for his performance as Natha; his quiet desperation and helplessness leaves a lasting impression on the viewers. Also kudos to UTV pictures and Aamir khan for producing this little gem of a movie. Highly recommended.
